Enjoying October

Owen is a busy boy these days. He goes to day care 5 days a week and then on Saturday we have signed him up at The Little Gym of Oakville in the "Birds" class which is a kindergym class for 12-18 month olds. Lots of his friends are in that class including Ksenia, Kaitlyn, Maksim, Lily, and Alessia. He will be doing this class every Saturday at 9 a.m. until the end of the year. On Saturdays, immediately following his gym class he has Toddler story time at WhiteOaks library in Oakville. Ksenia and Kaitlyn are also in this class, along with his other friends Jack and Justin. On Sundays Owen is in swimming lessons - Parent and Tot 2 (he completed Parent and Tot 1 last winter). This class is not a class like his Pedia swim class where he learns infant survival skills- this is just a regular Parent and tot class where the kids just have fun including splashing around, blowing bubbles, kicking their feet, standing on the edge and jumping into their parents arms etc. They also practice dunking their heads under the water. Owen is a pro at this! Here are some pictures of Owen at the library before story time and in story time last weekend:

Last year for Halloween Owen dressed as a pumpkin and a doggy. This year Owen is dressing as a little Skunk! He had a Halloween party last weekend at his friend Justin's house and this is him dressed up before we left for the party.  His costume says "little stinker" on the back of it!

Owen and his friend Annabelle loved Justin's cat

Here are some of Owen's friends in their costumes. Kaitlyn is a princess, Alistair is a Prince, Annabelle is a bunny rabbit, Ksenia is a kitty cat, Camden is an elephant, Nicholas is a tiger, Wyatt is a monkey, and Justin is the Incredible Hulk.

It was pretty challenging to get a group photo of all the kids and moms as you can see. Someone should of got a pic of all the Dad's taking pics!
Owen had a great week last week spending it with Grammy and Grampy while his daycare provider Sue Sue was on vacation.  This is a pic we tried to get on the morning my parents were leaving for their drive to Florida. Even though it might not look at it based on Owen's facial expression in this pic, he loves his Grammy and Grampy and had a great week with them!

All ready for daycare on a rainy day!

 Enjoying the beautiful fall weather!

I no longer need to walk Charlie myself anymore- Owen walks her now! They are a great pace for each other so it works out well!

Playing with all his toys in the garage

This weekend we had a visit from cousin Erica.  This is Erica and Owen at Jack Astors.

Owen isn't really saying any concrete words yet, however one word he has been saying lately is "Up". Here's a video of him saying his new favorite word:

Happy Boy!

Now 15.5 months old Owen is getting to be a very active and busy little guy. He loves to run and dance and is usually one of the most active toddlers when we go to any type of activity.  We tried gymnastics last weekend and he just loved it - he laughed and ran around and jumped on all the appartus's etc.   He also loves Toddler storytime that we go to every Sat morning. He and his friend Ksenia are the most interactive of all the kids - they dance and clap their hands and move around. Its so cute.  Owen is definitely a happy boy and loves to explore the world. This past week his daycare provider Sue Sue has been on vacation so last Friday he had his Grampa Willett babysit him for the day and this past week Grammy and Grampy Russell have been here from NB to look after him. Grammy took him to the Doctor on Monday for his 15 month appointment and he had 2 needles. Apparently he didn't like going to the doctor and as soon as Grammy opened the door to take him in he started crying and wanted to leave- he knows now. At the doctor he weighed in at 30 lbs 1 ounce and 35 inches tall! Big boy!

Owen enjoys Thanksgiving weekend

We had a fun and busy Thanksgiving long weekend.  Owen enjoyed a visit with Derrick & Nancy and family, Turkey dinner at his Grandma and Grandpa Willett's house, a visit to Crystal & Dave's house on Saturday, and lots of fun playing outside in the nice fall weather. Here are some pics of his weekend:

Being silly with Great Uncle Derrick - this is a game Derrick used to do with his boys when they were little and got lots of giggles. Owen liked it!

Playing with Toys at Crystal's house

Owen  had a little buddy to play with at Crystal & Dave's. They are 11 months apart but practically the same size. They were both fascinated with the cat's and their secret door.

This is a toy that our  next door neighbor Nicky gave Owen that he had stored in his basement from when his daughter was a toddler (she is 10 now).  He insisted that we take it even though our garage is already filled with too much stuff as it is, so we did.  However at first this horse really scared Owen and Charlie but Owen seems to sort of like it now. Not sure how long it will stay in our garage though….

Owen and I took a trip to the mall on the weekend - He wanted to ride the mini merry go round

Owen has a lot to say!
This is his new favorite pass time - taking all the pots and pans out of the drawer, banging them and then putting them back in. Although alot don't end up making it back in lol

Owen blows kisses to his Aunt Becky all the way across the world in Australia!

15 months old!

Tomorrow (October 2, 2012) Owen will be 15 months! He is really no longer a baby at all anymore. He runs around and has such a personality. He talks so much although most of it is gibberish. He does say Ma ma, Da da, na na (no), Donk (when he hits you on the head with his foam sword), "Ice, Ice, Ice" when we say "Owie, Owie, Owie"...this is something he picked up at daycare). Here are some things Owen loves and/or is doing right now at 15 months old:

· He loves to dance and just goes crazy when I put on his music. He even dances to Nick's music sometimes too.
· He loves to spin in circles and make himself dizzy.
· When I tell him to sit down and take of his shoes and he sits down and tries to take them off
· He feeds himself yogurt with a spoon
· He is becoming more of a picky eater lately- he used to eat pretty much everything but is growing less fond of veggies, and is even not loving fruit as much as he was. He turns his head to a lot of things lately. Hopefully this is just a phase. What he does love is his banana in the morning and his blueberry waffle with peanut butter.
· He loves giving Charlie biscuits "bickies". He knows where the bickies are stored and goes and stands by the cupboard and puts his hand up and points to it when he wants to give her one.
· He loves to give Charlie kisses and pet her a lot. Charlie gives him big slobbery kisses back. Its really cute. They are good buddies.
· He likes books. Sometimes he takes books and sits down and flips through them quickly. Sometimes he brings them to us and wants us to read them. Although is attention span is very short and he usually looses interest after 2 or 3 pages, unless the book is only 4 pages total with one sentence per page!
· He loves to throw the ball and is quite good at it.
· He loves our next door neighbor Nicky. Whenever he sees him he gets excited and waves and talks to him. Its all gibberish but he just talks and talks and talks and smiles when he seems Nicky for some reason. Nicky is an older man from Trinidad with a strong accent and very friendly. He gave Owen the foam sword and a plastic Lawnmower (his 3rd one since he already has 2 lol)
· He is really enjoying daycare right now. He happily runs up the driveway when we arrive and walks right in and sits down to take off his shoes. Then he stands up and points to the toys in the cupboard for Sue Sue to get for him. He knows where they are! When I say "Bye Owen" he just smiles and waves and is completely fine with me leaving him there.  But when I come to pick him up he runs up to me and smiles and gives me a big hug and says "Ma ma ma ma". It is the best. He is also good at giving kisses lately and makes the kissing sound when he gives you a kiss.
· He knows how to blow kisses now and when asked he will.
· He is almost getting too big for size 5 diapers and is also almost wearing a size 6 shoe!
· He is an awesome sleeper and sleeps through the night every night! He is so good to mommy an daddy!

Here are some pics from his last week as a 14 month old:

This is a picture Sue Sue sent us of Owen on the swing last week at daycare. It was a chilly day that day!

This is Owen and the other babies at daycare. His buddy Talon (12 months) is sitting next to him and Maddie (9 months) in the front.

Owen is going to have the best view when he goes to parades with Daddy!

Owen spend Sunday afternoon this weekend hanging out with Boys (Daddy, Jamie, and Pete) at Jamie's condo in Toronto. He even had his own chair to sit in!

Owen loves the park and can now go down the slide all by himself
