Owen is growing and changing so much!

This has been a big week/month for Owen. He now sits up by himself! We are so proud of him. We had a family photo shoot this past weekend and he was able to sit on his own for quite a few pictures. It was great. He also is more playful lately- just more interactive and very interested in his toys and books. When we read him a story he reaches for the pages and hits the books with his hands. He isn’t really teething yet but he likes to put everything in his mouth.

This weekend at almost 5 months old, he had his first meal of rice cereal. He just loved it and ate the whole bowl! He sat like a big boy in his high chair. He got the cereal all over his face and hands so we had to give him a bath after. We are looking forward to feeding him more of it.

Owen is also getting more mobile. When he is in his crib he moves all around, on his side and we put him in with his head on one end and by the morning he is a totally different end of the crib!
He has alot more hair now, enough that we can brush. He has definitely surpassed his dad in terms of amount of hair! Lol

He laughs a lot now. He likes it when Daddy is holding him up high and lowers him quickly. That always makes him laugh.

Owen went swimming for the first time last week (November 22, 2011) at 4.5 months. He just loved the water. I even dunked him once and he didn’t even cry. He just made the face he makes when we wash his hair and dump a cup of water over his head. He also enjoys bath times. He splashes and kicks and is starting to notice his bath toys.

Owen has been having fun with Mommy doing all the activities- We have done baby and mommy yoga, music class, baby gym class, and our tickles and tales class that we do. This Friday we are doing baby and mommy salsa class!

We are getting Owen ready for his first Christmas. We went to the Mattamy Children’s Christmas party at the Mississauga convention centre and had a great time. We also got pictures with Santa at the mall and Owen loved that and wasn’t scared of Santa yet. We got some family pictures done this past weekend and Owen was so well behaved..he even smiled for some and he also sat on his own and with Charlie. Such a good boy! We are very very excited for his first Christmas.....
