Owen is 9 Months old!!

This has been a big week for Owen. He turned 9 Months old on April 2! Hard to believe. He is turning into such a little boy now rather than a baby. He had has 9 month doctor check up and weighed in at 23 lbs and 29inches which is the 75th percentile. The doctor said he is a very healthy looking boy and is growing just as he should be and that we can keep feeding him how we have been. So that made me happy.

Owen changed into a big boy car seat and out of his infant bucket car seat last week! He seems to really like the new one. It's a little less convenient for Mommy as I can no longer just move him while he is already in the car seat (thus not waking him up when he is asleep), but it does mean more hugs and kisses every time he gets in and out of the car, and while we go into grocery stores and malls etc. which is really nice. Owen really likes riding in shopping carts and always giggles and smiles at all the people in the stores and becomes a real charmer. He also is really enjoying the new trike we got him. He is happy to be able to ride around and hold on to the handles, and see all the little kids on our street (I think when he is in his stroller he feels to confined laying back etc. His new trike is great for us right now as there is a handle that we can push, since Owen is too little right now to know how to peddle. But once he learns how, we can remove the handle and then it becomes an actual trike that he can get off and on himself, and ride around in.

Owen has been really good with sleeping lately. He has been having good solid 1.5-2 hour naps in the morning and afternoon, and sleeping straight through the night. I have a feeling his sleeping might get a little bit worse when we go to Florida as he gets out of his normal sleeping habits/environment. He was doing really well before we went to Florida.

Owen has been very good with his crawling. He is moving very quickly now and exploring everything. His crawl is more of a wounded soldier crawl than an actual crawl but it gets him to where he wants to go! He is also very good at walking along furniture, bending down to pick things up, and even stood on his own a few times. Nick and I practice helping him walk around but he still has a ways to go before he will actually walk on his own. But I think I might be walking before 1 year old.

He is still talking quite a bit. He has been saying "Ba Ba" occasionally, but sort of forgot how to say that for a few weeks but started up again saying it. He also likes to say "Acka" and he has said "Da da" a few times we think. He still likes to clap his hands, give high fives, and even waved for the first time yesterday (April 5). He waved to Grandma and Grandpa Willett. It was super cute.

April is a big month for Owen. On April 5 he finally met his Aunt Becky. We went to the airport to greet her as she arrived from Australia. She brought a really cute stuffed Koala Bear for Owen. She is here in Oakville for a week to visit so we are going to see lots of her. On April 16 Owen gets to finally meet his other Aunt, Sandra. He can't wait!!!
