Owen is 13 Months old!

On August 2nd, Owen turned 13 months.  Growing up so quickly! Owen has now been in daycare for 3 full weeks plus 2 weeks of part time prior to that, and I think we have had a break through. His daycare provider, Sue Sue, wrote very good reports for him every day last week saying he was a very good boy – taking his bottle, eating well, sleeping well, not fussy,happy boy etc.  Now when I drop him off he walks right into Sue’s house and looks for her and doesn’t cry or fuss at all.  When I pick him up at the end of the day I always hear one of the older little girls yell “Owen your Mommy is here!” and he comes running towards me and he is definitely happy to see me and gets excited and greets me with a big hug and wants me to hold him.  It truly is the best part of my day!  But there was one day last week when we were leaving and he wanted to give Sue Sue a hug. It was so cute and made me happy to know he is liking daycare.

This past weekend was the August long weekend and Owen had fun spending it with Mommy and Daddy. We had a really nice family weekend. We got up at 5:30 am on Saturday and the 4 of us (Charlie came too) drove to Parry Sound to meet our friends Jamie, Emily and her 4 year old daughter Sadie, and Jamie’s brother Trevor, his wife Nicole, and their 7 month old daughter Madeline at the cottage they rented on Georgian Bay.  We spent Saturday morning and afternoon at the private beach at the cottage and a very relaxing weekend at the cottage eating, playing games, drinking (Milk and water for Owen, and beer, wine and vodka for Mommy and Daddy J), not sitting around the campfire (there was a fire ban due to the dry summer up in cottage country L), relaxing, reading, sunbathing etc. It was a great weekend!!  Owen got nice and dirty playing in the dirt, sand, leaves, water etc. He loved every minute!
